I've joined a five a side football team that Freddie and Mike have started called the Furious Panthers! It's probably my first proper exercise since school. I'm more like a cretinous sloth than a furious panther to be honest, but it's good fun. I've played two games with them so far, and the scores have been an epic 9-1 and 8-1... unfortunately not in our favour! The teams we've played have been pretty average as well, but our lack of fitness and smokers lungs prevail and it all goes to shit.
I saw The Fall Of Troy at the weekend at The Garage and they were fucking good. Thomas Erak is a ridiculous human being who can play more with one hand than I can with both! And then he sings on top of that as well! Mind blowing. No encore though, but a killer set from a great band whose new album is suprisingly a bit of a let down for me. New bassist is the only reason I can think of. Feels like there's filler for the first time, and some shocking lyrics, and sections where I actually feel a bit bored, which was seemingly impossible before, Manipulator was amazing! Killed it live though. Randomly it was my sister who first showed me The Fall Of Troy, glad she did!

Letter of Apology
I got the new Strike Anywhere album today. It's everything there is to love about punk. Fast, hard, angry, melodic, anthemic and delivering a powerful message that makes you want to lift your fists in the air and live the life they preach. Very samey and predictable , but they're hardly in the business of breaking musical boundaries! They're all about the message, and they deliver it to perfection.
The postman also delivered my ticket to see them with Propagandhi and Protest The Hero at the end of November in London. Can't wait, it's going to be a fantastic gig! Propagandhi seem to have a new lease of life. They used to rarely tour and rarely release, and now they're all over the writing and the touring. Must take full advantage while it lasts!
And last but not least in my three item delivery was the New RX Bandits CD, with a t-shirt and badges. I've had this downloaded for a while so no surprise musically, but I try and support all my favourite artists by actually buying their music, even if I do download everything for free! And RX Bandits are a massively underrated band that deserve all the support they can get!
On Thursday I had to write a letter to Freddie apologising for wasting his time in a game of Pro Evo. They currently have a system at their house whereby anybody who loses a game by five or more goals has to write a sincere letter to the victor apologising for wasting their time. A stoner creation if ever I've heard one, and one that I will make sure I never have to abide by again!

Van
Overthrow have bought a van! Very excited. A good old red LDV convoy bought off four New Zealanders heading home, who had used it to tour Europe. For that reason it's kitted out to perfection for us. 3 seats in the front, and four in the back positioned to fit round an optional table (included). At the back there's a wooden frame creating two double bunk beds with foam mattresses, the top of which can be taken down leaving enough storage for all our equipment. As they've toured it round Europe, it's also got all these extras thrown in!:
3 burner BBQ
Large cool box
Big fold up table, 5 chairs
Pincode safe with key override
CD player and 6x9 inch speakers
Cricket set, beach bat game
Frying pan, plates, bowls, cups, knifes, forks, spoons
3x clear plastic storage containers that slide perfectly under one side of the double beds
25 Litre water storage container
Large sun umbrella
Jumper leads
Curtains
Tom Tom GPS with Western Road Maps
Dreams! We're like a real band. We're picking it up this week, though frustratingly we can't afford to insure it for another month. It's like getting a present for Christmas with no batteries in it and having to wait for the shops to open!
This weekend we've got a gig in Doncaster with Neck, and we're also getting some photo's done in London by Will's girlfriend Mhari. Yes that's right, for the first time in more than a year we're going to have new photos!
Megan and I are unashamedly addicted to sunday afternoon Come Dine With Me! And Burn After Reading, while trying to be a bit quirky, and having a star studded cast, is really quite crap.
